Cranberries and datil peppers combine for a tart, sweet flavor with a bit of a kick. Use this jam with roast turkey or chicken, or even with pork. It makes for a fantastic sandwich. Or blend with cream cheese and walnuts to spread on crackers. Datil peppers are part of the history of Florida, and St. Augustine produces the majority of the datil peppers cultivated in the United States. They are hot – falling just below the habañero pepper on the Scoville scale – but they are sweeter and fruitier in flavor.
